<h3><strong>Narrative</strong></h3>
<p>This last workshop is aimed at using and creating smart guerilla tactics as a creative boundary spanner to provoke or change the conditions of work to be able to excel as a maker in this process. You will work with all creative boundary spanning tools used in this module to create your own tactics. Whether it is a variety of behaviours and actions derived from the creative boundary spanning roles, stakeholder tool or reshaping the project’s approach based on the process tool. There are various ways in which you can strengthen your role as a creative professional and as a creative boundary spanner. So you can work from your strengths and have more impact. In this workshop you may experiment with and create your own set of skills and tactics to do so.</p>

<p><strong>Challenge #15 (40 - 210 min.); Guerilla game</strong></p>
<p></p>
<p>The guerilla game is all about creating guerilla tactics in creative boundary spanning situations. Guerilla tactics are your own smart tactics (actions/ behaviours) as a creative boundary spanner to provoke or change the conditions of work to excel as a creative in that process. The reason we call this guerilla tactics is the circumstance that in many boundary spanning situations, you are not in the overall lead as a designer, but subject to power dynamics beyond your direct control.</p>
<p>To be able to create a playful exercise, we offer you a scenario editor. This is a sentence with “blanks” in the sentence. These blanks will be filled using ‘randomized’ inputs to create ever changing cases to solve.</p>
<p>The situation is described in this sentence:</p>

<p><strong>Step 1</strong>:<br />The starting point is a creative boundary challenge. In teams of four you create your own challenge by using paper fortune tellers. Every paper fortune teller contains eight descriptions within one of the following four elements: a problem context; a problem; timing; a stakeholder hat (tool)</p>
<p>Every paper fortune teller lets you randomly select one description out of these four elements. By using all four paper fortune tellers it enables you to create your own challenging situation.</p>
<p><strong>Using the paper fortune tellers</strong>:<br />When all 4 paper fortune tellers are folded you either roll a dice of 1-8 or pick a number between 1 and 8 and then move the paper fortune teller the amount of times you picked. Pick one of the pictures, open the paper fortune teller and read out loud what it says. You now have one randomizer result. Repeat this process three times; with the other 3 paper fortune tellers.</p>
<p><strong>The situation description that emerges is</strong>:<br />As a creative you are committed to a collaboration project with multiple stakeholders.<br />In the [insert result of time randomizer] you are meeting one of your stakeholders, from [insert result from the context randomizer]. <br />This person talks to you in her/his capacity wearing a <br />[insert result of the stakeholder randomizer]. In a crucial meeting with this stakeholder, [insert result of the issue randomizer]. What do you do next?</p>

<p>As a creative you are committed to a collaboration project with multiple stakeholders.<br />In the <strong>concept phase of the project</strong> you are meeting one of your stakeholders, from a <strong>cultural organisation</strong>. This person talks to you in his capacity wearing a validation hat (researcher). In a crucial meeting with this stakeholder, your opposite <strong>is the project leader who fails to deliver on ALL fronts.</strong></p>

<p>You are the central creative boundary spanner in this challenging situation. Your team members help you create guerilla tactics for this situation to tackle this situation. Leading questions are:</p>

For each suggestion you try to find a card from the <span style="text-decoration: underline;">whole</span> toolkit connected to your decision and put this in front of you, annotated with a sticky how and what you will do, in what role, with whom, with what effect, using which boundary objects?</p>
<p><em>New challenge, new creative</em>: play the guerilla game again; start with creating a new challenge, a new team member is the central creative boundary spanner. </p>
<p><strong>Sharing round</strong>:<br />Every round will take around 45 minutes to play. If there is time left, a sharing round can be used to learn from the other teams challenges and tactics</p>
