So the Logos is often well represented (logos referring to the factual, logical part of a story). For credibility, also for designers, getting your facts and figures right is really important. The Ethos refers to the credibility and character of the speaker, which helps persuade the audience. A speaker builds ethos by demonstrating expertise, moral integrity, and a connection with the audience’s values. Strong ethos makes an argument more convincing, as people are more likely to trust and be influenced by someone they respect. Pathos refers to the emotional, the personal and the relatable in a story, not only to address the audience in their minds but also aiming for their hearts and feelings.</p>

<p>A boundary object in narrative design is a tangible or conceptual item—such as an image, artifact, game card, or shared metaphor—that helps different people communicate and collaborate by providing a common reference point. It allows multiple interpretations while maintaining a shared connection, enabling storytellers to bridge perspectives, co-create meaning, and engage audiences beyond individual narratives. Boundary objects can support storytelling by offering (visual) associations, triggering the right questions, or being personal and related to a life event or personal story. Boundary objects can also be helpful in their intrinsic ability to be multi-interpretable, offering people to relate to the same object in very different ways. Creating boundary objects can help in facilitating storytelling between others without you being the storyteller, putting you more in the role of the storytelling facilitator.</p>
<p>Boundary objects can be powerful in decentralizing the role of the facilitator, especially if they become stand alone orchestrated interactive forms; a language of form that people quite easily adopt is a card- or boardgame. Most people are familiar with how they work; a manual explaining rules, a structured sequence of steps to follow; these blueprints of design can be tailored to facilitate storytelling and the exchange of ideas, opinions, experiences, without the need of a human facilitator guiding this exchange.</p>
