<p><em>Rather than prescribing a fixed approach, CYANOTYPES offers starting points that trainers can build on to design their own sessions. The methods suggested here are flexible and can be adapted to fit different learners, professional contexts, and available resources. The focus is on hands-on learning, discussion, and reflection—ensuring that learners develop skills they can apply in real-world creative and digital environments.</em></p>
<p>To develop the competence of valuing ideas at EQF Level 5, learners must be engaged in iterative, collaborative, and context-sensitive learning experiences. The methods chosen should encourage both individual reflection and group interaction, and must create conditions for dialogue, negotiation, and multiple perspectives to emerge. These methods should also give learners practice in articulating value—not just thinking it, but speaking, testing, and adjusting it.</p>
<p>A useful starting point is to treat value as a shared construction rather than a personal judgment. Trainers can introduce learners to activities where they are asked to identify and compare how value is attributed in different contexts—such as in funding decisions, community-based projects, or cultural institutions. For example, a workshop might begin with several real-world creative briefs, and learners are asked to unpack what kinds of value are implied (social impact, originality, profitability, accessibility).</p>
<p>A second useful method is scenario-based prototyping, supported by simple tools such as the "Protobot" framework—which uses structured prompts to help learners quickly imagine and test future scenarios without heavy resource investment.</p>
<p>Another key method is peer-led feedback in rotating roles. Here, learners alternate between creator, evaluator, and facilitator roles in small groups. Using formats from Liberating Structures such as 1-2-4-All, learners can practice scaling conversations from individual insights to collective reflections about the value of ideas.</p>
<p>Trainers should also facilitate “reframing” exercises, where learners are asked to re-present their idea from different viewpoints—for example, as seen by a policymaker, a funder, or a local community group.</p>
<p>Reflection journals and process documentation should be integrated throughout. Learners benefit from tracking how their understanding of value develops over time.</p>
<p>Finally, integrating elements from "Better Work Together", a collective leadership guide, can support trainers in helping learners connect valuing ideas to building regenerative, systemic practices.</p>
