<p>This module focuses on the representation of the Romani in images and film. It is designed to enable you to identify and address stereotypes and prejudices towards the Romani community. After completing this module, you should be able to recognise, challenge and have an idea where deconstruction of preconceived notions and stereotypes can begin. Furthermore, you should be able to understand your responsibility as storyteller or educator when using, creating and reading images that depict and affect the Romani communities.</p>
<p>As such, this module aims to create awareness and sharpen a critical eye. We encourage you to question specific representations, listen to the perspectives of the Romani communities and find collaborative and creative ways to counter prejudices.</p>

<p><em><strong><a href="https://www.futurefilm.education/the-team/louise-adams" target="[object Object]">Louise Adams </a></strong>holds a bachelor's and master's degree in media and cultural studies. She wrote her bachelor thesis about the representation of Spanish Romani and volunteered at the Fundación Secretariado Gitano in Barcelona. </em><em>Her research interests include cultural and commemorative practices, postcolonial & gender studies, film and visual culture. </em><em>She is the project manager of the future.film.education project and works for international affairs at the ifs Internationale Filmschule Köln.</em></p>
